Dr. Shubha Kashyap is the Director of Student Affairs and Faculty Relations for Nexus at Michigan Engineering. In this new role, she is leading Nexus’ expanding effort to develop our student success strategy for online students. This is an area where Nexus is looking to grow, and Shubha’s prior experience and background helps us build a new footprint in this space. Additionally, Shubha supports new online degree programs as they move from ideation to launch. Lastly, Shubha is managing Nexus’ market analysis and business intelligence activity for new credit-bearing programs. 

Shubha previously served as Nexus’ first Director of Program Delivery and Design (2019-2022) where she oversaw program development and instructional design for online programs and across all modalities delivered by Nexus and the College of Engineering. Prior to joining Nexus in May 2019, she was at Penn State University for 14+ years, most recently as Director of Academic Affairs for Graduate Business and Education programs at Penn State University – World Campus.
 
Dr. Kashyap’s focus on increasing access to education is evident throughout her career. She specializes in academic affairs, student and faculty development programming, and navigation of higher education systems. She has successfully launched several online degree programs, managed small and large-scale strategic education and change initiatives, and is an advocate for first-generation college students and inclusive education practices. 
Shubha has taught graduate and undergraduate courses at Penn State University, and serves as Faculty for the Online Learning Consortium (OLC) Institute for Emerging Leadership in Online Education (IELOL). She has extensive demonstrated experience in change management, business coaching, strategic planning, appreciative inquiry, process consultation, and facilitation.

Dr. Kashyap earned her Ph.D. in Workforce Education and Development from Penn State University, M.A. in Student Affairs Administration and B.S. in Psychology from Michigan State University.
