Faculty Voices: Patrick Hammett, PhD

Patrick Hammett, PhD serves multiple roles in the College of Engineering, including Lead Faculty of Six Sigma Programs and Director of Faculty Innovation for Nexus. He is also a Lecturer for the Division of Integrative Systems + Design (ISD) and Department of Industrial and Operations Engineering (IOE). 

Since 2003, Dr. Hammett has taught thousands of students across multiple modalities, including synchronous, asynchronous, and “dual hybrid” courses, which include both in-person and distance learning students. In his recent Ready to Go Blue session, Dr. Hammett seeks to answer the question, “how can we provide an equal learning experience for both groups?”, offering tips for increasing engagement, organizing content, recording lectures, and administering assessments in dual hybrid courses.
